Contractors and Trucks

Do your company trucks tell the story about your work!

It’s been often said that you can tell how a contractors work is by looking at there truck. For my self I must say when I was hiring installers, the first thing I would look at was his truck. Is the truck kept clean inside and out?

When you look in there tool boxes are all there tools clean and neat. Not all rusty and just thrown in the tool boxes. Are all there cords wrapped up neat?

I believe that when a man or women keeps a clean truck that most often there work will be there also. They take pride in there work and there job. Plus they will show well to your client and respect them.

When you have employees driving company trucks you must have a program for them to keep your trucks clean at all times. Believe me I have had some of my trucks look like they went into a tornado inside and the tool boxes a mess also.

This should not be tolerate by any employees and I have fired employees over this over the short term. The main problem with this behavior is that they just do not understand that your trucks represent your company and your work.

So you should have this in your company employee hand book and of course be signed by them.

The same should apply to all your construction trailers on job sites and any field offices.

Happy Selling

Glen
