Contractors all over are fighting for market share again!
Man it can be brutal out there at times when bidding for work. We have been losing bid jobs by the hand full lately. On one hand I am thankful there is so much to bid on but on the other hand am I just spinning my wheels when I do not get awarded the work.
Of course it always comes down to price. When the out of town contractors come into the area they just kill our pricing models.
I for one just shake my head wondering how the hell they can do the same work for much less. I am not talking a few hundred dollars but thousands less.
So who really wins in these situations ? The general contractor? The building owner?
I guess if I was losing one here and one there it would not bother me but to lose 20 to 35 jobs a month that hurts.
But when I see what the jobs were approved for I just cannot get my business model to work with these numbers.
So any suggestions out there I would love some answers. Is this just me or are other contractors losing out in this much work.
Happy Pricing!
