You know the old saying CASH IS KING. Well nothing is more true to the contractor who wants to grow their business. Readily available cash is a must in our world. Every big company has a line of credit for a reason. Why would you spend your own money when you can borrow it for next to nothing! Let me show you how an unsecured line of credit works:
Benefits
- Usually pretty easy to get. Generally a score of 650 will do.
- Does not show up on credit report!!!
- Generally you can get 20% of yearly gross revenues.
- Very low interest rate, and you only pay for what you use.
- They don’t care or watch what you spend it on.
- They are unsecured, so if things go bad they don’t have anything to take.
What you do with it will make all the difference for your business in the long run. I will use Warren Buffet to make a point here. The richest man in the world first started with a failing textile business. So what he did was take what little money he made in that business and invested it in others and kept doing it and now look at him.
Think about all those things you want to do but never can because you’re short on cash; all those good ideas you let go because you didn’t have the money. With an unsecured line of credit, you can now do those things. If you’re a builder, get the credit and get a normal loan and use the line of credit for a down payment and carrying costs on a spec house. Buy an apartment building, maybe a car wash. As with any investments you have to diversify.
I personally found it easier to find a private capital company than an uptight bank to get mine through. What these guys do is just fill out the paper work and find you the best deal. But they also make it so you don’t get denied, because once you’re denied it shows on your credit report and then no one will touch you. Most of these guys used to work for banks so they will have a good relationship with someone at each bank and know what their guidelines will be. Although they charge a small fee, they are well worth it. So stop screwing around and go get some easy cash so you can make some real money.
Thanks
Josh
