Why contractors need to stay the course when marketing their business!
I like to help contractors and other businesses to learn how to market there business the right way. Yes, you can lose a lot of money down the drain by not marketing correctly.
The main problem I see is that they will not stay the course and they play this on again and off again advertising.
I have been able to show them a million times this is not how to build a successful company. See, when you change the way you think about your business and decide to put it on a course to profit, only then can you understand how your marketing system will work for you.
Notice, I said “marketing system” this is how you lay out what works for your business only. Not the business next door but for you only.
See, your business is unique and you need to test some advertising to see what works for your company.
Once you get the results your looking for then you put it on a “set it and forget it” marketing system and only touch or tweak when needed.
For long term success and building your business to meet the needs of your family and employees this is a true and tried plan that will work for the long haul.
I see so many businesses that start off great but then the phones start ringing and they write some business, then they think ok it’s time to pull all of my advertising I’m busy right now so I can save some money.
But, then 3 weeks or less they are looking for more business again. So, up and down they go all year long and this is how they market there business.
Now, think about your business and I bet this is the way you market your business?
Tell the truth, because I have looked at many many businesses that do it this way. Once they change to my marketing system they even out their work and cash flow. This makes for running your business so much easier and a lot less headaches.
So I hope this post can help you look at the way you market your contracting business.
