How to get the most from your home show?
Yes, it’s that time of year again for all of us to follow the home show circuit. We have 3 shows in our area of Sarasota, Florida. Now, I no I do not have to trend the bad weather and all the snow and cold like some of you but I still need to drag my display in and set it all up.
So if I need to do all of this you can bet I am going to make it all worth it.
Now, if you are like me we will have competition in the show, so how can I stand out in the show and make my display the talk of the show.
First off let me give you my personal take on home shows. Pending on your weather conditions at the time of your show, you will get a massive amount of people to show up just for all the giveaways at the show. They have no intentions of having any work done period.
So I have in area set up just for the giveaway crap. But then I have an area that I am able to pull in that one client that wants to talk to you about a future project. Plus I have special gifts just for the ones that will set an appointment with me on the spot.
Now it’s all about the traffic right? Think of it like your local mall and this is why companies set up in malls for all the foot traffic. They believe that the more people you get into the mall the better chance they have to snag a client.
So with this attitude in mind just don’t sit in the easy chair the show provides but stand up there and grab your clients and pull them into your booth.
I see so many contractors set up for a show just to sit down and watch the traffic go by.
The key also is to get your company information in the hands of everyone that passes your booth. See they might not be ready for that home improvement now but they may be ready for something soon.
The main thing is to be active and smile and talk to your clients and try to reach your future client.
Happy Selling
