Irresistible Bribery?

How contractors can add a little bribery in there advertising for extreme results….

So, I am from the old school and we always used newspapers to generate our leads. But there has always been a little secret that only a few of us old timers used to get the most leads.

BRIBERY!!

Now don’t get your hair up here before I explain a few things. First off bribery in advertising has been going on for ever and to no surprise it’s going on today.

Today we have cleaned it up and we call it incentives, discounts, coupons, free dinners, free glass of wine or dessert or even free shipping if you buy today. The bottom line here is that it works if done correctly.

So maybe you offer shutters with every window installation, New microwave with that new kitchen?

Roof vents for buying a new roof with premium shingles? But how do you offer the bribe so it does not seam like a bribe?

First off always be ethical when making an offer to your customers. This is about creating sales and finding a new client for your contracting business.

Second the only two things that most people thing about is fear and greed! Fear of the unknown and what’s in it for me. So you are after the greed factor. Everyone wants something for nothing, right? The FREE word is very powerful in advertising.

So write your ad and do not be afraid to give something away for free. I gave you some samples above, but the sky is the limit here as long as it makes sense to you and your contracting business.

Now, I will in a later post go into how to develop an ad that shows you how to offer an ethical bribe plus how to lay out your ad to make your phone ring off the hook with new leads.

Please remember all we are working to do here is get you more business. But the cat is out of the bag now on something that has always been a deep dark secret in the advertising world.
