Contractor Blogging 101

by glen on July 5, 2009

Why contractors need to bring blogging into there marketing mix!

I think by now that most contractors have a website for there business. Yes, most likely they had someone build it for them. They no nothing about how it works and they never touch it, other then looking at it maybe everyday?

This is why I like a blog better then a website. First you do have control over your blog. Next a blog is easy to set up and there easy to use.

Think of a blog as a journal that you would keep of your daily life. Think of the things that happen to you everyday in your contracting business that you may want to share with someone.

Yes, I here everyday that I don’t like to write. But if it was a contract to a client you could write it? Oh yes!

But , remember you can also use this blog as a marketing tool if you do it right. See, their is a way to communicate to your clients without sounding like your selling all the time.

You are able to tell a story and ad some of your keywords into your story and GOOGLE loves blogs so you can use it as a lead generator.

Let me give you a great site to check out to learn a ton about setting up your blog correctly. www.becomeablogger.com  I have used this site and Yaro is a great teacher.

Check out his FREE 10 video’s he has there also. They are the best I have seen for learning how to blog. Just the free plug-ins he told about to have on your blog is priceless.

Check out more of my blog since your here because I have photo’s and video on here also. I am only telling you this because you can do so much with your blog.

If you enjoyed this post please share it with other contractors and sign up for my RSS feed by hitting the big orange button on this page.
