I never was any good at keeping secrets. So let me give you just a little information about our new website we are going to be launching very soon and how this all came about, because crazy dreams do happen.
This all goes back to 2004 when I was in the middle of a life change and after 15 years I needed it I guess. At least that’s what my hormones were telling me. I was flat beat up and wore out with life and business and by the time the dust settled I remember pulling the gate closed one last time on my construction business and it was the saddest day in my life.
Going home in the last thing I owned – my F150 Ford pickup – I was thinking that it was finally over…or was it? The lawyers famous saying through the whole thing was “don’t worry Glen it will all go away.” Man did that turn out to bite me on the ass. Needless to say I have no love lost for lawyers.
So I wake up the next day with my new love next to me and think “where do I start now?” I was raised in the construction trade almost my whole life. I have been in Florida since 1987 and loved the sunshine. I was burned out from having 60 employees and really wanted to do something different.
I was beginning to look around this thing called the internet. I always loved the marketing part of my old business and I was always able to make the phone ring whenever I wanted. So I began to study marketing and got hooked on direct response marketing. So 600 books and about every marketing course I could take later, I was writing for some of my friends in the contractor world and was able to help their sales grow.
I got to say I was getting good at this marketing thing. Then all the hurricanes came along and I was able to do some sales for my friends in the business and hey, why not? The money was easy. It was just taking orders to be honest because of so much damage.
But I kept getting pulled back in to this marketing thing. So I met my partner Josh on a forum and was helping him on some marketing, and he said “man you are good at this. Why not do it for a living?” So that was the day I told him about a business plan I had wrote out about my vision for an online contractor site.
So we decided to partner up and started the research for our new site. Josh is a young pup in the seamless gutter business up north and we both had a lot in common. He has a passion for his business and I have a passion for marketing construction companies. So our new membership site will launch in September sometime and it will be without a doubt the only contractor site of its kind.
Our site will change the contractor world as we know it today. It will be the biggest thing to hit the contractor world in a long time. I believe in shaking things up a bit in my marketing and this site will be no different.
Our site really boils down to passion. And we poured our hearts into this because we only want the most passionate contractors to join our site. If you truly want to learn how to market your business and grow your business to new heights with proven ways that work without nickel and diming yourself to death, then this site is for you.
We are building a social Identity for contractors because they are crying out for connection with others that speak their own language in a private setting. Just think about how many contractors are in this world?
